The Bully’s Reality Foundation “Reality Round Up”
With the intention of throwing a welcome home party for Big Brother’s James Huling, Tim Levasseur, founder of “Bullies Reality Foundation” found himself gathering reality stars from across the country to support the families of Lauren Landavazo and Makayla Smith.
On September 2nd, 2016 the two 13 year old girls were walking home from school when they were both brutally shot, leaving Landavazo dead at the scene. En leiu of a welcome home celebration, after hearing about this tragedy in Huling’s home town of Wichita Falls, Levasseur knew this is something Huling would be passionate about supporting instead. Levassaeur immediately reached out to the families, and started planning the fundraiser that would later lift the hearts of hundreds in the community forever.
Taking place at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop (940-691-8226. Website), lines flowed out the door as community members waited to meet their favorite reality stars and give their condolences to the Landavazo and Smith family.
“Kill Em’ with Kindness”
Everyone had traveled from afar to be there for this wonderful day and it certainly didn’t go unnoticed. The atmosphere was light and happy, but everyone’s heart was heavy speaking with Lauren’s family. Although some couldn’t find the words to say, Lauren’s parents were a ray of sunshine and warm welcoming. With arms wide open, Lauren’s parents hugged each and every person there and thanked them for spending the day with them. Taking a second to gather his composure and hold back tears, Levasseur stepped over to the window quietly stating, “This is always the hardest part.”
Reality stars signed autographes and took pictures with fans, and the community members hugged and supported the Smith and Landavazo families. Bullies Reality t-shirts and purple ribbons were made for Lauren Landavzo, and donations to the families were made. Lavasseur, along with the reality stars, have kept in contact with the families and permanant personal connections were made that day. A crucial part of The Bullies Reality Foundation is for everybody to feel loved and a part of their family.
Although difficult, this day was the brightest day Witcha Falls had seen in awhile. The gratitude in the family’s eyes was heart warming. Whether a reality star, fan, community member, photographer, or waitress, everybody in Fuzzy’s came together that day to remember a sweet 13 year old girl gone too soon. The Bullies Reality Foundation will continue to hold events across the nation to help children battling any obstacle. Whether it be bullying, cancer, homelessness or tragedy, Bullies Reality believes all kids deserve to be happy and healthy, physically and mentally for as long as they live.
